About the event

The Kent St Riverside Stompers originated from a group of musicians who meet for coffee at the Kent St Café . One of the objectives was to use the bass sax as the bass instrument which was a style promoted by the Bix Beiderbeck Band in the late 1920’s.

The bass saxophone we use is one hundred years old in 2023 (and the player isn’t much younger !!)

The program we put together hopefully will be enjoyable for the band to play, interesting and entertaining for the audience and will be empathetic towards our dancers at the club.

Steve Searle (Trumpet)
