About the event
We're celebrating the 42nd anniversary of the club's founding. Please dress up, and remember our colours are black and gold.
The Heritage Reunion Jazzband (formally the New Orleans Heritage Jazzband) has settled on its new line-up consisting of Adrian Hicks (trumpet / vocals); Bob Benton (Trombone): Murray Kent (reeds /vocals); Tony Celiberti (piano); Rod Evans (banjo): John Healy (bass / vocals) and Nige Ridgway (drums /vocals).
The band has been promoting traditional jazz around the city with very successful gigs at Ellington’s, The Duke of George, and (from November) Jazz Fremantle. “We have made new friends and fans who we hope will come along to the Jazz Club. The Club is where the band began in the mid-80s and so we love to play there!” says band co-ordinator, Nige.
The music is fun, great for dancing and listening and has those three most important ingredients for a successful band: melody, rhythm and harmony.
“The new line-up has clicked and we love playing as a band,” says John Healy on bass, “and we always look forward to playing at the Club.”
