About the event
Tin Roof Jazz Band was born in 1986 when Roy Burton, then President of the Jazz Club of WA, brought together six classically trained musicians, including current leader Vivienne Kidd, who wanted to play jazz. Martin Kidd joined on banjo. The band honed their jazz chops, playing three or four gigs a week plus regular Club nights, until 1994 when Martin and Vivienne went to Spain to live. Vivienne reformed the band about four years ago. Mike, Tim and Steve have all played with the original Tin Roof and have been joined by Dijon and Benn. Vivienne feels really privileged to play with these five awesome musicians and knows that the audience enjoy listening and dancing to Tin Roof’s music as much as they enjoy playing it.
